Tips for a one-page resume

  • Lead with results

    A number per bullet — time saved, money saved, users served — reads faster than a list of duties.

  • Keep it to one page

    If it runs over, try Page setup › Narrow before cutting content.

  • Pick a quiet theme

    Minimal or Elegant read best; Technical suits a very dense resume.

  • Name the file

    The PDF is named after the first heading, so # Alex Morgan gives alex-morgan.pdf.

Questions

Can applicant tracking systems read the PDF?

The PDF contains real, selectable text in reading order, which is what these systems parse.

Can I add a photo?

Yes, with an image from the web — ![Photo](https://…) — or a data: URI.

Is my resume stored anywhere?

No. It stays in your browser while you edit; on download it is rendered in memory and discarded.
