Markdown tables to PDF, without broken rows
Printed Markdown tables usually fail in one of two ways: a row is sliced in half at the bottom of a page, or a wide table runs off the edge. Cropmark keeps every row whole, repeats the header row at the top of each new page, and wraps long values inside their cells so the table fits the paper.
Column alignment
| Write | Column is |
|---|---|
|:---| | Left-aligned |
|:---:| | Centered |
|---:| | Right-aligned — best for amounts |
Tips for wide tables
Narrow margins
Page setup › Narrow gives the table 16 mm more width on each side.
Short headers
Column width follows the longest word in it; abbreviate headers, not data.
Split it
Two tables of five columns read better than one of ten.
Questions
Can I print a table in landscape?
Not yet. For a very wide table, choose Narrow margins or split it in two.
Does the header repeat on every page?
Yes. When a table continues on the next page, its header row is printed again at the top.
Can cells be merged?
Markdown tables have no merged cells. For a label that spans columns, put it in a heading above the table.
