Markdown to PDF with page numbers, header and footer
Cropmark numbers every page of your PDF as “page / total” in the footer, repeats your document title in the header, and lets you add footer text such as a company name or “Confidential”. Page numbers are on by default; header, footer and margins are in Page setup.
What you can set
| Setting | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Page numbers | On or off, shown as “3 / 12” | On |
| Header | Your text, or the document title | The title |
| Footer | Any text, shown left of the numbers | Empty |
| Margins | Narrow 12 mm, Normal 20 mm, Wide 30 mm | Normal |
| Paper | A4 (210 × 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) | By region |
When a header or footer is shown, 8 mm is added at the top and bottom so it never overlaps your text.

Questions
Can I start numbering at a different page?
Not yet: numbering starts at 1 on the first page.
Can the page number go in the header?
Not at the moment. Numbers go in the footer, on the right; the header carries your title or text.
How do I turn page numbers off?
Untick Page numbers in Page setup. With numbers, header and footer all off, the page has no header or footer at all.
Do the numbers work in long documents?
Yes. The total is counted for the whole document, so page 38 of a 40-page file reads “38 / 40”.
